Scrummy Curry
This curry is normally called Beef curry in the oven but The Kid renamed it scrummy curry, for obvious reasons!
1.5 - 2lb braising steak
3/4 pint of beef stock
3-4 tablespoon of curry powder (depends on the heat)
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon apricot jam
1-2 tablespoons flour
1oz sultanas
2 onions
1oz butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 mashed banana
Cut up the meat and place in caserole dish
Saute onions in butter till soft
Add flour, curry powder, cook gently then add stock, lemon juice, sugar, jam, salt, sultanas, banana.
Pour over meat. Cover and cook in oven. Works really well with chicken too.
150 degrees for 2 hours or on low in the slow cooker.
